I don't know what prompted him to jump at the chance to drive our truck up the mountain that day at fire school so he could talk to the skinny girl with the large white hard hat and ugly Forest Service issue bug-glasses, but I'm glad it did.
I also remember how quick my roommate Rindee offered to let me ride in the front seat so I could sit by him, and how quickly I accepted! Thanks Rindee!
Our relationship has never really been "simple". Although I guess no one would ever describe any relationship that way. It seems like we have spent, and continue to spend, a lot of time "long distance", but I think it helps us keep things in perspective. We appreciate each other more. Which isn't to say we don't fight like cats and dogs sometimes... but anyone who knows me a little bit knows that's just me, and actually, it's just Dave sometimes too.
All in all I wouldn't take back one minute of the last 1,096 days and I am looking forward to many more
(It doesn't hurt that he has a great looking kid either...)
