13 Months - July 2010

Where did last month go? I was so busy planning your and Logan's birthday party that the whole month went by super fast! You had a good time eating your first birthday cupcake with me, your dad, and Logan...
and then trying to figure out the candle on the cupcake at your party (Logan'll show ya)...
We did have a fun month even if I can't remember where it went. I bought a season pass for me for the pool since you and your brother are free and we have sure made good use of it. If I counted right we have gone 13 times since we got the pass. Like I keep telling everyone it gives us something to do and gets us out of the house for a while. You love the water and now I let you out of your baby float and let you crawl around in the water. The pool slopes in along one edge instead of just dropping off so you can crawl in and out of the water. It definitely isn't a relaxing time for me though because I usually end up having to save you over and over again from crawling into water so deep your arms and legs are floating instead of on the bottom of the pool. It does wipe you out though and I can pretty much bet on you taking at least a 2-hour nap when we get home. You've gotten a cute little tan out of it and when I get you out of the bath and you are crawling around naked you've got this cute little white swimming suit outline on your tan skin.

I think this picture was taken when I put you down for a nap after the pool. Newborn or 1-year-old babies are so sweet when they sleep. You've been teething for the last week or so and your 9:30/10:00 p.m. bedtime hasn't been so sweet so I take advantage of naps.

Speaking of your late bedtime, last week you ended up missing your nap because of a doctor's appointment and I ended up putting you to bed at 6:30 thinking you were so tired and grumpy you would sleep until morning. Wrong-o. You woke up at 9 p.m. thinking that was a nice nap and you were ready to play. Well I was busy working so I just let you play on the floor. I turned around to catch you doing this with my ice cream bowl I had left on the floor...
You just kept trying to get the last little bit out of the bowl and had me laughing pretty hard. You thought you were pretty funny yourself.

You started walking this month too. Remember way back in like April when I said I thought you'd be walking? Yeah apparently you do things on your own time when it is your idea. Grandma H. says that's a trait you get from me but I think that is definitely from your dad. You still do the Frankenstein walk but pretty soon Logan isn't going to be able to outrun you by very far.

I mentioned earlier that you were getting another tooth. I thought for sure with all the hell you've been giving us it had to be at least 2, or more likely 5 teeth coming in at once, but I finally tricked you into letting me look in your mouth tonight and it is just 1. One stinking tooth. You've been beyond cranky, had your sleep schedule thrown completely off, and run a fever for one stinking tooth. We still have 15 to go in the next year or so and I just pray that you will get over being so dramatic about each one or we will be in big trouble.

Like every month at this stage in the game you are always doing or experiencing new things and I can't wait to see how much you change next month after this crazy one.

Love you Tessa Lin,
Mom

I can't imagine getting teeth for the first time! I also am in no hurry to have children and have them get their first teeth. Tessa, (and family!)I am sorry you have been so cranky! I hope the rest of those buggers come in a little nicer! You are such a sweetheart and so funny. We love you a ton!
