42 Months - December 2010

Well I finally got a new camera in the same month that we had your Aunt Lisa take our family pictures, so this letter is going to be more picture heavy than words, at least I hope.

Earlier this month your dad brough Smokey Bear to preschool. He brought him on Thursday to the 4 and 5-year-old class, but you wanted nothing to do with him. That night your dad went over with you how Smokey was his friend from work and was sad you didn't want to sit on his lap. You didn't really seem to care and told your dad you didn't think Smokey should come to class on Friday. Well, you finally changed your tune right before Smokey left, but as you can tell from teh picture, you still don't look that convinced. You had pretty much the same look on your face when we went to the bank with the preschool today and saw Santa.

Your dad has been building you two toyboxes as part of your Christmas presents from us, and you have really enjoyed hanging out in the garage with him. We must have had some music on this day because you grabbed Tess and decided to dance...

You are such a funny kid, and I am so SO excited for Christmas with you this year. You may think Christmas is fun when you are a kid, but I am pretty much convinced it is WAAY better to play Santa. I found a place online where you can personalize a video that "Santa" sends to you where he talks about how good you've been this year and what you want for Christmas. As soon as it came on and he said your name you about fell out of the chair. It was pretty fun to watch. We may not spend a lot on you guys at Christmas, but I still think I was able to get quite a bit for my money, and I am so excited to see you come out on Christmas morning and see what is under the tree.
Another funny story this month had both me and your dad scared. One night you had this weird looking knot of hair on the top of your head and you told your dad it hurt. When he asked me about it I told him you had hit your head earlier that day but I hadn't seen any blood. When I got you in the bath I thought I'd try to wash any blood away and get the hair untangled but there was no blood...
We ended up getting the knot out and didn't think much else of it until the next night both you AND Tess had these knots and more than one on each of your heads. They had just appeared out of nowhere too! We were pretty much convinced you both had some kind of weird parasite or something, and I was totally grossed out until we dug a little further into your story about how they got there. You said something daddy's bathroom was what had caused them. Right then I remembered I had moved his goatee trimmer and a nose hair trimmer out of my bathroom and into his earlier in the week. Sure enough you had gotten a hold of the nosehair trimmer and for some reason stuck it in your hair, and then Tessa's. Poor Tess! The knots in your hair came out pretty good but you buzzed her with that nosehair trimmer pretty good and she had a few chunks of hair come out in the bath that night.

And last but not least a few of the family pics for 2010. I usually try to get them done in the fall but it didn't happen this year. Luckily the weather was still pretty nice and we were able to get a few. Unluckily, you are only looking at the camera in like 2 of the ones with the whole family, and even worse, I look terrible in those 2!
Tessa in the well bucket... don't get any ideas buddy...

My favorite. You were so over pictures by this point, but you were still a good sport and gave your momma a kiss!

Maybe this is my favorite. My two boys are sure dang handsome!

I about died laughing at the nose trimmer story. Poor Tess. I love reading your letters, especially because I could basically write pretty close to the same thing about my kids each month.
