So I was watching HGTV the other day (bad idea for someone with NO design sense) and their dream house had this beautiful dining room table. Well I haven't been able to get that table out of my head. I tried to explain it to Dave and told him I wanted him to build it for me but the way I was explaining it wasn't working out because his response was "You wouldn't even mind if you were white trash would you?"* Well, probably not but the table in the dream house and the table in my mind were NOT white trash. Then today, browsing some DIY blogs I found this...
which is the homemade version of this...
and now I want it. BAD. Dave and I made a deal that I could get a new kitchen table when we either move back to our house in Enoch or get another one somewhere else so I will wait impatiently until I can try my hand at making this beauty. I just need to polish up my woodworking skills from 7th grade first... Unless of course someone wants to make it for me in the meantime?
They have lots of cute plans here.
* To Dave's credit here, the way I described he thought the table had like particle board as the top, and yeah, that would be kind of white trash.

I like really like it.
Ooh I am a BIG fan. I will help you build it! I'm not any better than you, but the two of us together may be able to make a go of it!
Love it...move back to Enoch immediately to get a new table ;)
It is an awesome table! Absolutely love it! Also I would love any baby hat patterns you have. I have been searching the internet, but haven't been looking in the right place. my email is sharicebradley@gmail.com.
Thanks Kim and good luck with the table!
I'm a fan of the table.
I would love to make it for you. I don't have any woodworking skills at all, but I could make you a lovely one out of cardboard and duct tape.
No, no, you don't have to worry about thanking me.
:-)
