Tyson - June 2014

Our summer is in full swing at our house, and I think you are enjoying having Logan and Tessa home with you all day every day.  Most days.  When you aren't screaming at them. But really, it has been fun to have every day be a new chance to have fun.

I realize you are going to someday kill me for this, but as far as I know it is only me, your dad, and your grandmas who read this (maybe Aunt Lisa too), and they've all seen your bum before so it's no big deal, but this is a big deal!  You're potty trained(ing)!  Yay!  I had been putting off buying the big box of size 5 diapers and had been squeezing you into size 4s for a couple months.  I finally bit the bullet and ordered them, and the day after they came you decided you were going to use the toilet.  You've done really pretty well (when you want to) and have only had one accident at night, and that was in the trailer while we were camping and I hadn't kept a good eye on how much you'd had to drink before bed.  I'd call that a success dude!  It feels like I'm going to be giving you potty treats until you are 18 at this point, but I'll do whatever it takes to keep you motivated.  My least favorite rite of passage (so far) is almost done - FOREVER!

I totally did a bad thing and took a picture in church, but I just had to.  When the primary kids got up on Mother's Day to sing you went with Logan and Tess, and when you came back down the aisle to your seat you were so excited and yelled, "I did it mom!" and everyone laughed.  Father's Day was pretty much the same, and I was ready with the camera.  You went up there with Tess but instead of singing you just smiled and waved the whole time you were up there and when you came back down the aisle it was "I did it mom!" all over again.  I love it.

We had another camping trip this month for the Veater reunion up at Horse Valley.  Except for the bugs the first day we all had a lot of fun.

There were two different swings to play on...

naps and cuddles to be had...

fourwheeler rides and so many other fun things to do.

That didn't mean we didn't see your grumpy side from time to time.  This was one morning when you decided you were NOT happy to be anywhere with anyone for any reason.  I wanted to get a picture of your grumpy face and pretty much nailed it.

But you had lots of kids to play with and their toys to steal.  I got this picture after you wrecked in Zoie's car right in an old ash pile.  You definitely didn't stay clean on this trip.

We had a lot of fun, and everyone was sad when we had to come home, especially since we were able to see dad for more than an hour or two at a time.  When dad was telling you that we were going camping the next day you said, "Are you going WITH us?"  You were pretty excited that he did.

You are such a fun kid with a huge personality.  I love it, and I wouldn't have you any other way.  You can be so sweet and thoughtful one minute and hitting people with trucks the next.  I found a note of a phrase you said that was so cute that I wanted to make sure to add to one of your letters.  I don't think I have yet, and it comes from a few months ago when we would go pick up Tessa and then head to the elementary school to pick up Logan.  The kindergartners would always be outside playing when we got there, and you called them the kitten gardens.  "Mom!  It's the kitten gardens!!"  I think I will call you a kitten garden in a few years when you are there too.

We love you so much bud, and even more when you're sleeping.

Love ya,
Mom

Ty, What can I say you are one special little guy. Always into something but for the most part always happy except when you wake up grumpy. Love you tons and tons.

Hey! I read your blog! And...somehow I missed that you'd posted. I love this and I think Ty is too cute. I think that you should come up here and potty train my boys now. Pretty please??? :D
