Jazz Game

I was sick and tired of Dave always knowing what he is going to get for Christmas/Birthday, etc., so this year I tried to think of something that he would never guess. He had already started telling me that he didn't want me to get him any"thing" so I decided I wouldn't get him a "thing". After talking with Dusty I decided that he'd probably enjoy going to a Jazz game and I would really enjoy a little vacation before things start getting crazy at our house. So, about a week before Christmas I got online and bid on a hotel room at priceline.com and bought some tickets to a Jazz game. Unfortunately, I am horrible at keeping secrets and as cool as it would have been to have waited over a month to let on that I had gotten him anything, he ended up not being totally surprised when he opened an envelope on his birthday with two Jazz tickets inside.

I had made arrangements with my mom to watch Logan so they came up and got him on Friday morning and Dave and I headed to Salt Lake. We weren't sure how we'd do being completely alone for over 24 hours but we really had a great time. We got a room at the Little America for $65 and it was pretty nice! The bathroom was very pink but the bed was huge and the room itself, minus the pink overload, wasn't too shabby. We walked to P.F. Changs and had a really good dinner before walking to the E.S.A. We got there about an hour early so we headed to one of the shops to buy Logan a present and then went in and found our seats.
The game was fun. I ended up spending a lot of time watching people and the Jazz bear because when they would take time outs I wouldn't realize when they started playing again - I'm used to the play by play on tv! Dave kept laughing because there was a little girl behind us, probably about 7 or 8 or so, and she kept asking these funny questions. Dave thought they were hilarious and I was laughing because I had thought the same exact thing in my head just seconds before it would come out of her mouth!
When they couldn't make a shot: "Why are they making such long shots? I knew he wouldn't make it!"
After halftime: "So now they are trying to make baskets on that side?"
About 8 minutes left in the final quarter: "I can't sit here for 8 more minutes!"

She was pretty entertaing! I was glad they won the game, although they were playing the worst team in the league! Dave even went down and bought us some pretzels at halftime because I have been craving them forever.

After the game we walked back to the hotel and hit the hay in that huge king bed - we need to get us one of those! It was fun to get away and hang out just the two of us, but we were both ready to see Logan when we picked him up on Saturday. He really does make things more interesting!
On Sunday we went to Dusty and Sylvia's to have a Superbowl party. The Steelers are my team so I was pretty excited about the outcome, although I really wouldn't have minded if the Cardinals had won.
Here's a really short video of Logan spinning at the party in his new Kyle Korver jersey. He and Quade wouldn't stop spinning until they both couldn't stand up.
